A Christmas Wedding in Hunt Country
Sharing the dream team of local Virginia wedding vendors that made our “Christmas in Hunt Country” wedding in Middleburg a dream come true!
Quarterly Trip to Effingham Manor Winery
Although our visits are often more frequent than quarterly, we stop by Effingham Manor Winery, nestled in the quaint countryside of Nokesville, Virginia, to pick up our Wine Club bottles every three months. This quarter’s wine club, which we picked up over this past weekend, featured a King’s Ransom (a personal favorite), Cabernet Franc, and Petit Manseng. We also took the opportunity to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy with a bottle of Effingham’s Sparkling Wine and the lovely views next to the koi pond on the property.
Recently in Hunt Country
Hello, everyone! Apologies for the silence on this blog over this past week… it was my husband’s birthday, and we spent several days exploring and celebrating across the beautiful countryside of Virginia. Over the past week, we explored Charlottesville and much of Virginia’s beautiful wine and hunt country where we got to soak in the beautiful views, enjoy the early signs of spring, and sip on the delicious wines in the region.
Visiting Hunter’s Head Tavern in Upperville
Just down the road from the beautiful town of Middleburg is Upperville, a small town in Fauquier County notable for its horse farms and beautiful country estates. Nestled in the town is Hunter’s Head Tavern, a lovely historic tavern serving some of the best organic and locally-sourced meals in the area. Everything from the lovely cork menus to the hunt country-inspired foliage is carefully considered, thus creating an inviting, cozy and elegant English country-style ambience.

Our Visit to Fleetwood Farm Winery in Leesburg
Spending an afternoon in Manassas and Leesburg, Virginia, plus a visit to Fleetwood Farm Winery and the Manassas Battlefield National Park.

Sunday at Salamander Resort and Spa
One of my favorite things about Virginia’s hunt country is the combination of equestrian-inspired decor, rolling hills and pastures filled with horses and cattle, old-world cobbled streets and lovely brick homes, and history-filled small towns. It’s probably no surprise at this point, but one of my favorite towns in hunt country is Middleburg. This past weekend, we popped over to Salamander Resort and Spa for a cocktail and walk around their lovely equestrian center and gardens.

Our Afternoon at Stone Tower Winery
In the midst of our final wedding preparations, we had the opportunity to take some time out of our day to visit Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia. It was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last!

An Evening at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant
This past spring, my fiancé and I had the pleasure of taking a few of our engagement pictures at the lovely Goodstone Inn in Middleburg, Virginia. It was our first visit to Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, and the location came highly recommended by our incredible photographer, Photography du Jour. After walking around the property and admiring the lovely scenery and the Inn’s iconic ivy wall, we decided that we absolutely could not pass up the opportunity to enjoy drinks and dinner at The Conservatory Restaurant.
