Quarterly Trip to Effingham Manor Winery
Although our visits are often more frequent than quarterly, we stop by Effingham Manor Winery, nestled in the quaint countryside of Nokesville, Virginia, to pick up our Wine Club bottles every three months. This quarter’s wine club, which we picked up over this past weekend, featured a King’s Ransom (a personal favorite), Cabernet Franc, and Petit Manseng. We also took the opportunity to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy with a bottle of Effingham’s Sparkling Wine (another personal favorite) and the lovely views next to the koi pond on the property. On this occasion, we enjoyed shrimp cocktails and a fresh coleslaw from Wegman’s — a delicious picnic if I do say so!
Effingham never disappoints when it comes to the quality of their wines, the lovely scenery, peaceful adults-only environment, and friendly staff. If you’re in the area and looking for a new vineyard to add to your wine club list, I highly recommend checking out Effingham! It’s beautiful year-round, and the adults-only environment lends itself well to a good book and glass of wine where you can truly relax. The only downside, if there is one at all, is that it is not pet friendly — so, plan ahead if you have a pup and are looking to visit.
