Our Afternoon at Stone Tower Winery
Wine is bottled poetry. - Robert Louis Stevenson
In the midst of our final wedding preparations, we had the opportunity to take some time out of our day to visit Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia. It was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last! Established in 2009, Stone Tower Winery offers exquisite views of Virginia’s beautiful wine country… combine that with a stellar menu and great wine offerings, and you have a truly fantastic winery. I thoroughly enjoyed my Wild Boar Cellars Blanc de Blanc, and my fiancé loved every sip of his glass of Cabernet Franc.
We were lucky enough to enjoy the beautiful ambience and views at the winery’s Tower View Tasting Room where we started our meal with the most divine roasted carrots with whipped feta. We then indulged in a fabulous short-rib grilled cheese sandwich and the winery’s “hogback” wood-fired pizza with bresola, culetello, and pepperoni… an elegant and refined version of a meat lover’s pizza.
Before heading home, we also popped over to the Harvest Barn on the property for another glass where we enjoyed our sips seated on the most luxurious and comfortable leather sofas in the lofted space.
The property is dog friendly and offers a spectacular full menu along with very friendly and welcoming staff — I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you’re in Leesburg!
