As a Virginia native, one question I often field from friends and family visiting the state is, "What should I wear?" I have several other style guides worth checking out on this blog for inspiration about nailing the ‘hunt country chic’ aesthetic; however, I haven’t focused much yet on practical dressing as it relates to the lovely seasonal weather that Virginia offers us. My mom is one of the most prepared ladies I know, and so naturally, I receive the “What should I wear?” question from her every time she graces this lovely state with a visit. Personally, I like to start planning my holiday shopping in early October so that I can beat all of the last-minute shopping (and chaos!). Lunch at Keswick Hall
To kick off my birthday celebration over the past weekend, we popped over to Keswick Hall which is located just twenty minutes outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. During our visit, we had the opportunity to walk around the resort, enjoy a cocktail in the library adjoining one of the pools, and soak in the lovely golf course views as we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Marigold by Jean-Georges.
Outfit of the Day | 03 January 2023
We recently had a mini staycation at the lovely Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C., and I figured it provided the perfect backdrop for an ‘outfit of the day’ post. The moody grey skies provided the perfect lighting.
During our stay, we enjoyed a couple of cocktails at Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria, followed by an incredible Italian dinner at Ristorante Tosca (I highly recommend the branzino ), and a tour of the Old Post Office and Clock Tower which provided a stunning view of the city that rivals the Washington monument.
