Lunch at Keswick Hall

To kick off my birthday celebration over the past weekend, we popped over to Keswick Hall which is located just twenty minutes outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. During our visit, we had the opportunity to walk around the resort, enjoy a cocktail in the library adjoining one of the pools, and soak in the lovely golf course views as we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Marigold by Jean-Georges.

For lunch, we started we a drink and split the tuna tartare - paired with glasses of champagne, the citrus notes of the yuzu mustard danced around our tastebuds. The tuna tartare was an absolute treat and a ‘must order’ dish if you’re visiting. For lunch, I enjoyed the warm shrimp and tender green salad, and my husband had the tomato, mozzarella, and basil wood-fired pizza. The pizza was delicious - perfectly balanced flavors, fresh, and authentic. But, the real star of our lunch was the champagne beurre blanc sauce that my shrimp was served atop of. It was undoubtedly one of the best bites of our trip to Charlottesville — we could have eaten bowls full of it! After our delicious lunch, we split a molten lava cake (which we learned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten actually created) at the recommendation of our server (we are so glad she recommended it!).

From there, we strolled around the lovely resort and ended up at Crawford’s for a handcrafted cocktail. Keswick doesn’t use the term ‘handcrafted’ lightly — both of our cocktails were a culinary delight from the finesse of the bartender to the delightful aromas of our drinks, to the phenomenal taste. Every detail was perfectly executed, and the stunning library we sipped our drinks on was equally delightful.

If you’re ever in or around Charlottesville, Virginia, Keswick Hall is a must-visit location!
